David's Three Month Update
- Unsure of his exact height and weight as he did not have a pediatric appointment this month; however, seems as though he weighs around 13ish pounds.
- "Talks" to us often, loves to coo
- He also "nods" excitedly when spoken to
- He's a smiley little baby!
- Only really cries when he's startled or scared
- His "hunger cry" sounds as if he's coughing
- His cry for attention sounds like he's shouting "mem" or sometimes "mom" (obviously unintentionally)
- Stares into my eyes while he nurses
- Still holds his own hands a lot as he did in utero, also places them in his mouth all. the. time.
- Blows spit bubbles
- Most of the time his tongue is sticking out
- Discovered his hands
- Spitting up a lot more
- Caught his first cold :( No fever, just congestion which lasted a few days. Nasal aspirators and saline sprays are a God-send.
- Enjoys being held (by anyone, frankly) but doesn't mind laying down in his stroller
- Eyes are darkening, although they are still blue. Similarly, his hair seems to be deepening and often appears red in the sunlight--as mine did when I was his age, apparently
- His lean, long body loosely fits into 6-month sized sleepers but he can still wear 3-month sized bodysuits.
- Bedtime is around 8:30pm and he will usually sleep until 5:30am. After breakfast #1, he takes a morning nap for about 2 hours, give or take. Around 9am he'll have breakfast #2 and we begin our day. It's a constant cycle of sleeping, diaper changing, feeding, playing and then sleeping again. Lather, rinse, repeat, hah.
- Since arriving back at home daddy does most all diaper changes which has spoiled me rotten.
- Lingering cradle cap is an issue--however, I'm not surprised it's still there as I haven't been too aggressive in getting rid of it. I ordered a bottle of an all-natural, cradle cap baby shampoo and likewise, an all-natural based ointment to try out. Hopefully it'll be completely gone by next month.
- Hates tummy time but he's able to lift his head and chest and scoot himself forward.
- Can roll over from tummy to back.
- Pushes his legs out and "stands" when I burp him
- Reaches out and grabs rattles that are held in front of him
