Only two more days until our son turns 7 months old (whyyyy?) but the "6 month sleep regression" is in full swing! Getting him down for a nap is a little bit of of a struggle. Maybe a tooth will poke through soon? No sign of any just yet. Until then, the rock n' play is a life-saver during naptime.
We've run into a few changes since embarking on solid foods with David. First, poor bubs has so. much. gas! Tummy massages, leg lifts + kicks, gripe water and lots of tummy-time help to ease his discomfort. As his GI tract adjusts to new foods, it's tough to see him experience belly pain.
Second, smelly diapers and alternatively, a lack of smelly diapers are new issues. Essentially, when there's poo, it stinks but more recently he's become irregular. The days of breastfed-only, not-so-stinky poopoo diapers are no more. As we're making changes to his diet we're hopeful his body will work out the kinks soon. And so far we're not too worried as he's never gone longer than two days without a bowel movement. With that said, his prior-to-solids diet proved at least one or two BM per day.
It's hard to believe David has just about been out for as long as he was in--of course, I'm referring to my eight and half month pregnancy with him. Time goes by so quickly. I wish I could do it all over again. Same baby. Same pregnancy. Same labor + delivery. I wish there was a rewind and pause button in life. And no fast-forwards.

While my mom is close by, available (and willing), we take her up on her offer to "watch" the baby. We wait to leave until after he's in bed for the night. This kid is still a great sleeper so once he's asleep, he's out for the night. We felt comfortable, although strange, having some time by ourselves.
