FOUR Months Old

David's Four-Month Update

• At his 4-month appointment on 3 April 2018:
• Weight:  14lbs 11oz
• Length:  25"
• Head circumference: 41.9cm (16.5")
• Shots:   DTaP, Hib, Polio, PCV13 and the Rota vaccine (2nd round)
• Hair is golden brown, often blonde in the sun.  Eyes are blue, somewhat green.
• Smiles at himself in the mirror.
• Loves to hold his hands together, as he did in utero. 
• Gets a bit of a heat rash during walks. At least it seems to be a heat rash. 
• Has drier skin like his mama.
• With regards to breastfeeding:
• Nursing is going well, my body continues to adapt to meet his growing needs.
• I haven't pumped at all this past month; we've used up a few of the frozen bags of milk
• David is occasionally distracted from nursing by bright lights in the room and daddy.  David will turn away from the breast to smile at daddy (no matter where Trevor is in the room!).  He also likes to pull himself on and off the boob.
• Stretches his arm out during nursing sessions.
• Not totally sure, but dairy seems to upset his belly, so I've cut out cow's milk and limit cheese consumption.
• Daddy does the best job at burping our bubs. 
• He's seriously the easiest, sweetest little baby ever.  He's fun to be around and loves to smile.  
• Loves gazing at leaves rustling in the trees. 
• Still in size 2 diapers.
• Blowing spit bubbles is his part-time job.
• Holds his feet with his hands on occasion.
• Laughed for the very first time!
• Wears 6-9month onesies & sleepers.
• Pills his paci out (and can sometimes put it back in!).
• Hates tummy time less but still isn't a fan.  We try our best to distract him by laying beside him while he exercises.
• Enjoys bouncing in daddy's arms during our many mini-dance sessions. 
• Cradle cap is completely gone.
• Sleeps anywhere from 8-12 hours at night, depending on his needs.  We allow him to wake up on his own.  Takes him a little longer to fall asleep than before as he wiggles his arms out of his swaddle.  We'll be trying out a new swaddle that allows him to keep his hands by his face.
• Can roll from his stomach to his back and is so close to rolling from back to belly.
• His hands are always in his mouth.  And so are all the toys.  
• Drooling is a thing now.
• Loves to talk!
