ONE Month Old

This 1 month old baby boy managed to swipe the sticker off of his belly!

David's One Month Updates

• At his one month pediatric appointment:
• 9.7lbs (37th percentile for weight); +1.8lbs from 2-week appointment
• 22inches (72nd percentile for height); +2 inches from birth
• 38.1cm head circumference (76th percentile)
• Received 2nd round of Hepatitis B shot.
• Currently has dark blue eyes, brownish-blonde hair with blonde eyebrows and lashes (as he did at birth).
• Still fits into newborn diapers.
• No longer fits into his newborn sleepers 😭 but can still fit into newborn bodysuits.  Is now wearing 0-3month sleepers.
• Takes Vitamin D drops (since 1 week old).
• Noticeably different cries: Hungry-cry, pain-cry, overstimulated-cry, wants-to-be-held-cry and "talking" shouts. 
• Nurses like a champ!  
• Has begun nursing from both sides during each feeding (burping in between).
• Spits up more now than previous weeks.
• No issues with urinating and BMs.
• Thanks to swaddling, he sleeps for long stretches at night; about 5-6 hours depending.
• Alert and observant.  Turns head towards voices and sounds and loves to look around.
• Discovered his mobile and loves to stare at black & white images.
• Sweet disposition, easy-going and self-soothes well.
• Enjoys being held and cuddled although he prefers mommy.  😊
• Enjoys bathtime.
• Coos and "talks" to us.
• Occasionally has hiccups after feedings.
• His whole face turns red when he's pooping. 
• Not always a fan of his car seat. 
• Developed baby acne (3 weeks old) + cradle cap (1 month old).
• First real smile on 27 December 2017 @ mommy.
• Raises one eyebrow often.  Especially while stretching, like his daddy.
• Began tummy time and seems to enjoy it.  Has been able to lift head since birth.
• Strong extremities.  It can be a bit difficult to change his diaper when he's fighting it as he can lift himself up (backbend style) and also straighten out and lock his legs.
